1.The
"gruppogarage" is a photographic idea of Leonardo Damiani
2. The efforts of the gruppogarage are directed towards photographic investigation
and experimentation.
3. Knowledge of the history and techniques of photography are essential
to allow participation in the idea of the gruppogarage.
4. Gruppogarage considers photography as a form of artistic expression,
and therefore free of all economic or commercial dictates.
5. Art has been created by Man for Man; thus He is its sole user.
6. The art of gruppogarage, understood as the attempt to represent the social
tendencies of our age, is simply the artist’s purely unconscious interpretation
of social stimuli.
7. The interpretation of the artistic message is to be sought within the
mind of the observer of the artwork. Therefore, the artist is not responsible
for the effect of his work on the public.
8. Gruppogarage believes that, the purpose of art is to facilitate the search
within oneself and an understanding of the reasons ruling human life.
9. The essential difference between human beings and other forms of animal
life stems from man’s capacity to feel affection and within the resulting
creative investment in the relationship with the Other resulting there from.
10. Eroticism (understood in the classic meaning of the term) is the artistic
representation of the human capacity to invest in his affective aspect
11. Erotic art has always been part of human creative production, representing
in artistic form the possibility of the species to continue to exist
12. Therefore, eroticism is the only form of art accepted by gruppogarage
13. The confusion between eroticism and pornography
is born exclusively from the fear within affective investment
14. Pornography and pedophilia are forms of animal violence. They eliminate
the difference between man and the other animals insofar as they lack all
affective investment and tend towards the destruction of the other.
15. Those forms of political or religious thought that seek to regulate
eroticism are considered by the gruppogarage as a form of dictatorship and
as such, as enemies of man and of his nature.
16. The photography of gruppogarage keeps its distance from any form whatsoever
of distinction between races, social classes, religions or nationalities
insofar as the Man is a single creature subject to the same needs and basic
necessities
